2) How did Joe Stephenson end up raising the money to make the film?

Joe Stephenson raised the money through investment by individuals such as rich friends. This is because no funding body was willing to fund Chicken.

3) How does the Chicken budget compare to a Hollywood-funded British blockbuster such as Spectre or Paddington 2?

Chicken is a micro-budget film which means the amount of money wasted on making the movie was way less then the Hollywood funded British films.

4) Joe Stephenson tried to secure funding from organisations that help low-budget filmmakers. What is the BFI Film Fund and how does it contribute to the British film industry?


They support independent film makers espcially and their productions.
The BFI Film Fund is an organisation that uses the National Lottery funds support original UK filmmakers and films.

5) Why do you think Chicken failed to secure funding from the BFI Film Fund?
- This is because the target audience was niche.


Production

1) What difficulties did the film run into during production?


- They were victims to rain, and had issues with the lighting.


2) How many days did the film take to shoot?


- 19

3) What scenes were particularly difficult for Joe Stephenson to film?
- They shots which took place outside seeing as the weather was a problem.

1) Why did the film fail to secure a distribution deal when first made in 2014?


- It didn't have promise of making profit seeing as it attracted a niche audience and not a mainstream audience.

2) What film festivals did Chicken feature at between 2014-2016?

- Chicken featured Edinburgh film festival, Busan 20th international film festival, New Hampshire film festival, palm beach international film festival and Julian Dubuque film festival. 

3) Why are film festivals an effective way for a low-budget film to secure a distribution deal?

- This would give the movie more exposure seeing as other people would be aware of it and more and more people would talk about it.

4) When was Chicken released in cinemas in the UK?

- Chicken was released on 20th May 2016.

5) Why do you think film subscription service MUBI chose the film to feature on the service?

- It appeals to a niche audiences, people who are more passionate  and this is their target market.

6) Why was Film4 a good choice to give the film its UK television premiere?

- Film 4 was a good choice to give the film its UK television premiere because it appeals to a niche 
audience/ more educated. Film 4 is an art-house channel that shows unique movies.

7) When will the film be released on iTunes and other video-on-demand services in the USA and Canada?

- It will be released on DVD in the UK by Network Releasing and the digital distribution in Canada/USA will be in 2018.
