Comments on Statement of Intent:

I really like the title and tagline from your film pitch – but it’s not in your statement of intent! There’s clearly a good idea here but it needs a fair amount of work to make sure you’re getting the credit you deserve.
The whole statement is lacking organisation – one paragraph, no sub-headings, randomly moving from one media concept to the next. At the very least, start with your title, tagline and genre clearly laid out.
Far more media terminology is required – look at the brief (minimum requirements) and then outline specific aspects you will create in your cross-media production that meets these requirements. This means specific shots, sounds (what diegetic and non-diegetic sounds will you use? Music?) and more.
Very little reference to the film posters – I like your distribution idea but nothing on what they will feature. This is half the brief!
Your industry ideas in terms of promotion are great but you need more in terms of the funding and distribution of the actual film.
Nothing on representation or stereotyping – a vital media concept. This is mainly narrative description.

Next steps:

Copy and paste this feedback to your Media 2 coursework blog with the title ‘Statement of Intent feedback and learner response’.
As your learner response, pick out the three improvements/changes you need to make to your Statement of Intent.
Re-draft your statement of intent using Microsoft Word. Sort out the organisation and use the guidance available to ensure all aspects are covered.

LR:

- I will add my tag line to my statement of intent
- I won't add too much of my narrative to not give away the story too much, I will only add the main events of the story
- The paragraphs will be more organised e.g One paragraph for narrative, mis-en-scene, sound, lighting etc.
