Comments on Statement of Intent:
• I really like the title and tagline from your film pitch – but it’s not in your statement of intent! There’s clearly a good idea here but it needs a fair amount of work to make sure you’re getting the credit you deserve.
• The whole statement is lacking organisation – one paragraph, no sub-headings, randomly moving from one media concept to the next. At the very least, start with your title, tagline and genre clearly laid out.
• Far more media terminology is required – look at the brief (minimum requirements) and then outline specific aspects you will create in your cross-media production that meets these requirements. This means specific shots, sounds (what diegetic and non-diegetic sounds will you use? Music?) and more.
• Very little reference to the film posters – I like your distribution idea but nothing on what they will feature. This is half the brief!
• Your industry ideas in terms of promotion are great but you need more in terms of the funding and distribution of the actual film.
• Nothing on representation or stereotyping – a vital media concept. This is mainly narrative description.
Next steps:
• Copy and paste this feedback to your Media 2 coursework blog with the title ‘Statement of Intent feedback and learner response’.
• As your learner response, pick out the three improvements/changes you need to make to your Statement of Intent.
• Re-draft your statement of intent using Microsoft Word. Sort out the organisation and use the guidance available to ensure all aspects are covered.

LR:
- I will add my tag line to my statement of intent
- I won't add too much of my narrative to not give away the story too much, I will only add the main events of the story
- The paragraphs will be more organised e.g One paragraph for narrative, mis-en-scene, sound, lighting etc.
